Tropical Fish Hobbyists - Behind the Business
Tropical Fish Hobbyist wanted to show their readers what happens behind the business at Xtreme. What they got was a little of Xtreme and a little of Florida Exotic Fish Farm. To understand what makes Xtreme work, you have to see how it was deveoped.
Xtreme was not developed as a retail product. Xtreme is the result of 30 plus years of nutritional development aimed at producing great fish that would stand out in retail stores all over the country. It was only after years and years of requests from stores owners that any effort was made to make the formula "people friendly."
In a month or two, we'll begin and on-line series of monthly movies, "Day at the Farm" and we'll show folks the raw original version of the Xtreme formula and how it was made. You'll see why it worked on the farm and how we had to change it to work in the home aquarium.
We hope you enjoy the article, we are proud to have been asked by TFH since we have been reading this magazine since we were kids in the 50's.

ACA 2011 Convention - Washington, DC - July 21-24
Join Rick and Tamela Biro and Chris Biggs at the 2011 ACA Show. FEFS will display fish that were raised from fry to fly on Xtreme and you can play, "stump the wizard" with Rick or Chris. Lots of fun and it will be a time to meet old friends and make new ones. Hope to see you there....stop by the booth...PLEASE.
Great Chicago Cichlid Association
The Greater Chicago Cichlid Association show was a success and we are glad that Chris Biggs was able to show off what we have to offer.
Each member received an Xtreme bag with a sample of our most popular formula, Cichlid PeeWee. The presentations were interesting and the auctions successful.
Thanks for the invite. Hope to see you all again...soon.

New - Monster Koi and Big Fella Goldfish & Koi Formulas
After a bunch of testing in Koi ponds and Goldfish tanks all over the country, and this was a rather humbling test...do you know how much food a Koi Pond can go through...it's boggling? Anyhow...after all this testing we are happy to announce that our Monster and Big Fella formulations for Koi and Goldfish are a tremendous success.
These hungry critters go after this chow just like we intended, not floating on the surface, but as it slowly sinks. That means, no more gulping air and no more fouled water. These fish eat these two pellets and the waste is far less than anything we tested it against. Outdoor pools stayed fresher and you could actually see the fish underwater. Indoor tanks tested just a good.
So if you want to give it a try, let us know and we will direct you to the few stores that have already stocked up Summer, and for a short time only, we'll even ship it to you direct of there are no stores close by. Once we get it to all our dealers, you can pick it up there and we will not be shipping direct.
If your store carries other Xtreme products, ask them to order these two new professional formulas so you can feed your Koi and Goldfish the very best food available.

Global Pet Expo - March 16-18 - Orlando Florida
Chris Biggs can't keep his hands still as he explains the Xtreme Advantage...thank you Chris. Three days of face-to-face contact with the movers and shakers in the Pet Industry promises to make Xtreme Aquatic Foods available in more stores in the USA and around the world. Mo Devlin made the booth happen using photos he made for us for our labels as the background of our booth. We couldn't have had a better place to present Xtreme to the industry...thank you Mo!
Made in the USA, No Hormones, try it - it works for the last five years brought distributors, pet stores and chains to our booth where we were able to give them the 411 on why Xtreme is better than the competition and explain why and how we are breaking into this very crowded market with our new tropical fish food formulas.
From our .6oz mini jar of Betta PeeWee to Cat Scrapers, Big Fella, Monster, Crave and our Marine PeeWee, people told us story after story of what our formulas have done for their fish. Marine breeders and retailers told us that large numbers of Marine species that are not supposed to like dry food are taking Marine PeeWee and loving it. Killi fish hobbyists are buying Xtreme Crave flakes to feed these fish that normally eat nothing by beef heart and worms. Wild Tropheous take Xtreme PeeWee formulas right out of the imported box.
It was easy to show skeptics why we are so excited about Xtreme. 25 feet from the booth, 30 Florida breeders, farmers, importers and exporters had their fish on display. All we had to do was to point to the fish that we raised on or fed Xtreme to and it was crystal clear. Since everyone had equal access to the Florida weather, sun and water, the only variable was the food, and Xtreme fed fish were easily the most colorful, active and healthy; from the time they came out of the bag, thru three days of over crowding and bright lights.
It may take a few weeks to fully determine what was accomplished at the Global Pet Expo, but one thing's for sure, Xtreme is well on it's way toward capturing a small share of the tropical fish food market. Expect to find Xtreme on the USA export list very soon.

Global Pet Expo - March 16-18 - Orlando - Booth 1348
Join us in Orlando, Wed through Friday, for the Annual Global Pet Expo just outside of Disney World. Our booth will be open during show hours and maned (womened) by Rick and Tamela Biro, Andy and Keta Biro, and Chris Biggs. We'll have all our formulas in all their various jar sizes on display, and some great Point of Sale (POS) materials for you to use in your store.
In addition, we'll have a sample jar for each visitor which will include a sample of all our formulas and a mini DVD for you to take home and play on your DVD player to see Xtreme in action. If you're a Florida Exotic Fish Farm customer, you know that we feed Xtreme to half a million fish daily. You also know that each batch of Xtreme we produce is first fed to our farm and if it's not good enough for our farm, it's not good enough for our customers.
We'll also introduce a Store Feeding program so you can honestly ask your customers to feed their fish what you feed your fish. This year we're not going to talk about how good our food is, the proof is in the growing number of people that are using Xtreme, what we want to concentrate on is this:
Give us 24 inches of shelf space, follow a program we've been testing all year, and watch your food sales increase. We'll practically guarantee it'll work.
Sooo...really, we're ready to WOW you. We've been preparing all year long. So please come visit us. We're in booth #1348, smack dab in the middle of the Aquatic section. See ya there!

Introducing - Cat Scrapers and Catfish PeeWee
Just in time for the All-Aquarium Catfish Convention 2010, Xtreme Aquatics is proud to introduce two brand new formulas, Cat Scrapers, a 10mm fast sinking wafer that encourages the natural eating habits of Plecos and other catfish. This formula uses Green Peas as the primary protein ingredient to appeal to these herbivorous catfish.
For your Synodontis and other cats, try Catfish PeeWee, a 1.5mm pellet with a balanced diet that is aggressively eaten by these picky eaters.
Want to see these professional formulas in action, see our new introduction video on YouTube.

Hormone Free
Using hormones in tropical fish foods is illegal. That should be enough, but a little discussion might be helpful. You will not find hormones in any commercial foods sold in the USA, it is illegal. Using hormones will unnaturally color fish with their male colors, even females and juveniles.
There are some folks in the far east that are using hormones to get full coloration in juveniles. This might appeal to the uninformed beginner, but once they learn the ropes, they too will most likely shy away from artificially manufactured fish. Once an artificial fish is taken off the hormone, the faux colors will fade away.

Feeding the Uruguay Gymnogeophagus.
This fish was raised on the 1.5 mm Xtreme and is a breeder male. The head hump is indicative of a dominant male in the breeding colony. This species is a mouth brooder, the females are not very large. The babies are very small and will take brine shrimp when spit out or stripped from the female. These fish are very peaceful and also do not require higher temps. Share your experiences with this group of the newer uruguay fish. Wednesday, April 28, 2010
Feeding Tropical Fish

We want to share our experiences in developing Xtreme Aquatic Foods. Spanning 40 years beginning in 1970 from our college apartment in Tallahassee to our fish farm in south Florida, we feed a half million fish daily and we feed them exclusively with Xtreme Aquatic Foods. Over the next few months, we will tell our story, give you the facts you need to make a decision and then ask you to go to your local retail store and ask them to give us a try. Once you try Xtreme you will be convinced it is every bit as good as described, and then some. Visit our commercial website: http://www.xtremegreen.com/
